Akon gets into a debate about Jollof rice with Deputy Governor of Lagos (photo/video)

Akon is currently in Nigeria for the Google For Nigeria event taking place in the country.

The Senegalese-born American singer while at the event, got into a debate with the deputy governor of Lagos, Dr Obafemi Hamzat.

The debate was about who has the best Jollof rice in Africa.

Akon defended his country of origin, saying: “Senegal Invented Jollof Rice.”
